Troubleshooting tips
Leaking
If your steamer is leaking, try to locate the origin of the leakage. Is it coming from the mouthpiece or the water tank perhaps? If the water is coming straight from the tank make sure the little stopper has been properly attached. Also please double check so that the tank is properly attached to the steamer. There should not be a space/gap between the water tank and the steamer. Is the leakage coming from somewhere other than the water tank? Please contact our customer support for further assistance.
Some customers have reported a problem with filling the reservoir. They reported the reservoir was not filling and there were air pockets with no water in the air pockets, due to pouring the water in too fast. You may need to use a small funnel.
Do you live in an area with hard water? We recommend using distilled, deionized, or at least filtered water in regions with hard water to prevent these kinds of issues. Your steamer may have calcium or mineral deposits. If so, please decalcify your steamer using these instructions.
Weird noise
Is there sometimes a weird sound coming from your steamer? This is normal, it's just the steamer working to heat up the water inside the boiler.
No steam
If there's no steam coming out there are a couple of things you can do for yourself to try to rule out what might be the problem. Start with the water tank. At first, you could check that the water tank contains enough water. Make sure to fill up the water tank properly. Then you can try removing the water tank and then putting it back in place again. If the water tank’s not properly attached and there’s a gap between the tank and the device and tank, this may well be the problem. If there's still no steam and you have access to a spare water tank (from another steamer maybe)? then please try another water tank to see if that’s where the problem lies.
Is something wrong with the power supply? Check the power plug connection and make sure that the socket functions the way it’s supposed to.
Did you wait long enough for the steamer to heat up?
It takes about 25 seconds for the steamer to heat up and the orange light to go out and turn green. Do not push the steam button before you see the green light.
Do I need to descale my steamer? Cirrus 2 has a coating that makes it resistant to residues of limestone and minerals, this means that there is no need to descale it too often. Although, if the trouble remains and no steam comes you could try to descale the steamer using vinegar. Please follow our guidelines on how to proceed with this. Also please remember that we recommend using distilled, deionized, or at least filtered water in regions with hard water to prevent these kinds of issues. Battery water works just fine too.
Still no steam?
